Tencent Cloud Launches Blockchain RPC For Web3

Tencent Cloud, the cloud division of global tech giant Tencent, has introduced its inaugural Web3-native product, Tencent Cloud Blockchain RPC, in partnership with blockchain service provider Ankr. This new offering aims to provide a dependable Web3 infrastructure and developer services for Web3 creators. With Tencent Cloud Blockchain RPC, the company aims to offer a fast and resilient blockchain node infrastructure solution, empowering developers to excel in the swiftly evolving Web3 landscape.

Tencent Cloud’s Blockchain RPC

Tencent Cloud Blockchain RPC, a newly launched RPC service, enables developers to conveniently query data and process transactions across various blockchain networks. Developed in collaboration with Ankr, the service ensures a high level of stability in the underlying node infrastructure, allowing developers to interact with blockchain networks with ultra-low latency. This approach lets developers concentrate on building decentralized applications.

Moreover, Tencent Cloud Blockchain RPC addresses the challenges faced by enterprises and Web3 projects when establishing their own nodes. These challenges include high operational costs, manpower requirements, and the need for resources to deploy, maintain, and upgrade nodes, often requiring quick fixes from the blockchains themselves. The service also tackles issues related to weak stability and availability, which can affect application performance due to risks like hardware failures, network interruptions, and malicious attacks. Additionally, it offers a solution for elastic scaling, as solo nodes often struggle to scale flexibly during periods of high concurrency and peak requests.

Poshu Yeung, Senior Vice President of Tencent Cloud International, expressed their commitment to the global Web3 community through this launch, stating, “Tencent Cloud is glad to be offering unprecedented capabilities to empower developers and to support the growth of decentralized applications.” Stanley Wu, Co-Founder and CTO of Ankr, emphasized the significance of the partnership, noting that it paves the way for accelerated development in blockchain applications and collaboration opportunities in the decentralized internet space.

Tencent’s Blockchain RPC: Public vs. Premium

Tencent Cloud Blockchain RPC comes in two versions: public, offering free blockchain interaction with certain features and rate limits, and premium, providing Pay-as-you-Go blockchain interaction with increased request throughput and enhanced rate limits. An enterprise-exclusive version covering additional blockchains and regions will be launched soon. The service will also integrate new supported blockchains and an advanced API service into the public and premium versions.

The offering boasts high concurrency performance, supporting a regular request volume of up to 1,800 requests per second per chain. Tencent Cloud ensures high disaster tolerance, availability, and ultra-low latency RPC services. The product also offers straightforward billing based on the number of requests, with no extra fees for Archive Node requests, freeing developers from the complexities of node management.
