Polygon Launches zkEVM Beta Version for Scalability

Polygon, the Ethereum scaling platform, has announced the beta launch of its zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM) platform. It aims to achieve scalability, security, and EVM compatibility. The platform is completely open-sourced. It allows developers to access repositories to modify, use, and distribute the software in any way they see fit. The mainnet beta for the platform went live at 14:25 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). It is inaugurated by Vitalik Buterin, who completed the first transaction on the network.

Polygon’s zkEVM Platform Attracts DApps and Infrastructure Providers

Polygon has said that the platform will launch with a number of decentralized applications (DApps), gaming projects, and infrastructure providers. Balancer, The Graph, Lens, and others have already announced their participation.

The zkEVM platform is the second decentralized exchange to be launched on the mainnet, following the release of the zkSync Era mainnet on March 24th. Polygon has also pledged to make the source code for every component of its zkEVM publicly available. It allows developers to analyze and contribute to the advancement of zero-knowledge technology.

Polygon’s co- founder, Sandip Nailwal, expressed company’s desire to adopt a culture that is in line with the Web3 code. It will enable more experimentation and opportunities for innovation.
