Meta Hires DoorDash for Marketplace Deliveries on FB

DoorDash, a delivery service, is collaborating with Meta Platforms (Facebook’s parent firm) to offer the consumers a convenient shipment of the goods sold by them via the Marketplace application of the social media venue within 48 hours of the orders. As per the latest report issued by the Wall Street Journal, the respective facility will be provided for items to be delivered within the range of up to 24km (15 miles). The objects should be small so that they fit in the trunk of a car.

Meta Joins DoorDash for Marketplace Deliveries Ordered on Facebook

At the moment, DoorDash is carrying out the trial of a business-to-business facility titled DoorDash Drive to permit the vendors to affiliate with the delivery services of the firm. In this case, a delivery task will be assigned to a driver just after the accomplishment of the checkout process by the consumer. The testing of the respective delivery feature will first be carried out in some cities. In doing so, it will keep an eye on the consideration that the consumer can more conveniently access and benefit from the venue.

Facebook consumers are allowed by the Marketplace feature to sell and purchase products from others. This type of vaccine is usually uncomfortable to some extent as the parties normally do not know who they are dealing with. It is still ambiguous how the buyers will be protected by Facebook from being exploited on the behalf of the sellers.

Many a time the sellers’ products on online venues are not in good condition are do not match the ones that have been advertised by them. Spective agreement has been witnessed seven months after Tony Xu (the CEO and co-founder of DoorDash) was included on Meta’s board of directors.

The appointment of Xu on meta seems to be strategic as it occurred at a time when the firm is endeavoring to monetize the social media venues thereof. For this purpose, it is offering additional features related to social commerce and e-commerce. Apart from this, Meta will also move toward the methods by which it can monetize the Metaverse-based initiatives taking into account the likelihood of delivery feature’s integration.
