Injective and Eclipse to Launch Cascade, Solana SVM Rollup

Eclipse and Injective have introduced Cascade, the first interchain Solana Sealevel virtual machine (SVM) rollup. The development of Cascade by Injective using Eclipse technology has resulted in an efficient rollup for Solana. It can easily integrate with the Inter-blockchain Communication (IBC) environment. This will enable Solana smart contracts to be easily deployed on Cascade, expanding the Injective ecosystem.

Injective Chosen as Early Testnet Partner for Eclipse’s Personalized Rollups

Cascade’s parallelized SVM, which rivals Solana in speed and throughput, is an innovative addition. It is also the first time that interchain security (ICS) has been used to facilitate rollups, making it a significant milestone for the industry. While the Interchain Security specification has been finalized, technical details are still being worked out. Therefore, a testnet beta version 1 will be released before the final deployment of Cascade.

Eclipse has allowed users to personalize their rollups, and Injective was hand-picked as one of Eclipse’s premier early testnet partners. The Eclipse beta testnet uses an SVM sequencer managed by the Eclipse group. It sends blocks to a data availability layer after receiving input from Solana wallets and smart contract deployments through the Solana command line interface. Injective plans to use Celestia as its data availability provider to further improve performance, and Injective-powered settlement will ensure proper sequencer transaction execution in the long run.

Eclipse Group Secures Solana Foundation Funding for Interchain Security Development

The Eclipse group has received funding from the Solana Foundation to develop and deploy SVM IBC across different blockchains. This feature enables the usage of Eclipse chains for interchain security (ICS). For the Injective SVM chain to participate in interchain security with the Injective Hub, two different architectures are possible. The CCV module is easily integrated into Injective, allowing interchain safety for Cosmos IBC chains.

In addition, Injective is the first company to provide an SVM rollup using Eclipse’s Cascade platform. It allows Solana smart contracts to be scalable. Cascade has launched on the Injective testnet and will soon be moved to the mainnet. This integration will increase Web3 usage, bringing new users to the Solana ecosystem. Moreover, it allows Cosmos platform users to access the most popular Solana dApps hosted on Injective.

Overall, the introduction of Cascade by Eclipse and Injective marks a significant step forward in the development of interchain security for rollups. It also demonstrates the potential for collaboration between different blockchain networks to achieve greater levels of interoperability, ultimately benefitting the entire industry.
