Helium Network Successfully Migrates to Solana

The Network Now Provides a Seamless User Experience on the Solana Platform
The migration was necessary as the Helium network faced significant challenges in maintaining its L1 blockchain. The proof of coverage and dependable data transfer activity became more taxing on the network. This resulted in core developers spending an abnormal amount of time supporting it. To address these issues and position Helium for long-term success, the community approved a plan to upgrade the network by migrating to the Solana blockchain.
The migration process took months of preparation, and a core working group suggested the migration two weeks ago. With the successful completion of the migration, the Helium network now operates on the Solana platform. It provides a seamless user experience for its over 1 million NFTs, or network-enabled hotspots.
Helium Network Completes Successful Migration to Solana Platform with State Compression Technology
The migration to Solana was also made possible due to the recent introduction of state compression. Without this feature, the process of minting each hotspot as an NFT would have been prohibitively expensive. However, with state compression, the cost to mint the over 900,000 NFTs was as low as $7, providing significant cost savings for the Helium network.
